Parts Plus… Manage Obsolescence Risk Proactively
Parts Plus is a web-based obsolescence management tool that allows users to upload Bills of Materials and track current information on electronic components to effectively manage obsolescence, RoHS/REACH compliance, and supplier risk. Users can track parts status, identify obsolete components, and find drop in replacements and second sources for equivalent parts. Subscribers receive automatic Product Change Notification (PCN) and End of Life (EOL) product alerts as well as BOM health analysis reports to help predict future parts obsolescence. Parts Plus provides a proactive approach to obsolescence risk analysis and mitigation. In addition to managing parts obsolescence, Parts Plus allows users to manage Conflict Minerals data, perform due diligence, and export EICC/GeSI based reports as required by Section 1502 of the Dodd Frank Act.
Predict parts availability during your product’s lifecycle
When products are designed with a long life cycles, engineers must be aware which components have an increased risk of obsolescence over the product’s life. The Parts Plus health projection tool was developed to predict long term parts availability and identify components with an elevated risk of obsolescence, providing users a pro-active product lifecycle management tool to mitigate future obsolescence risk.
Stay Informed with Automated PCN and EOL Alerts
Parts Plus monitors your suppliers for PCN and EOL notices, identifies the affected Bills of Materials, classifies the changes, and alerts you of component modifications that might affect obsolescence or product functionality and compliance.
Once an alert is received, customers can manage all notices from a single user friendly utility where they can review the PCNs, see affected BOMs and part numbers, view EOL and LTB dates, assign actions, and share resolutions with team members to effectively address issues and mitigate risks affecting product manufacturing and sustainability. In addition, customers can review current and historical PCNs. The PCN tool provides a turnkey solution from PCN release, to identification of impact on products, to PCN resolution.
